TF 6000 L/h Oil reconditioning unit

Transorfilter Sweden performs reconditioning of transformer oil through heating, particle filtration and degassing. The oil is heated to about 70°C and through patented technology it is effectively treated and its insulating properties improved.

Reconditioning the oil is a much more environmentally friendly alternative than replacing the oil with new. In addition, brand new oil from the factory must also be degassed (dried) before it can be used in a power transformer.

One of our larger products in the higher capacity TF-series is the TF 6000 L/h which is best suited for medium and larger power transformers. Recommended for most large applications where an oil with good properties is required.

Mobile / Stationary

TF transformer oil reconditioning unit are manufactured with a welded, painted steel chassis. The frame can be adapted as a mobile or stationary unit. The TF series is available for some models as a mobile unit on a trailer, for transport on public roads or as a stationary unit delivered with or without cover plates or canopy. Also delivered assembled in a container of any size is another possibility. Typically a 10-foot storage container.

Filtration and heating

An oil heater with several heating elements heats the oil to desired temperature by means of indirect heating of the oil. The heater also partially functions as a heat accumulator and prevents major temperature changes during operation. The heating elements are thermostatically controlled and automatically heat the oil to the set temperature. The heating group has high capacity and a large heating area but with a low surface effect of 1.0 Watt/cm² to prevent hot spot cracking of the oil.

Extra pre-heater (74kW) can be integrated into the larger high-flow equipment and / or equipment used at colder temperatures.

Particle filtration is done with a cartridge filter. It is easy to change the filter cartridge in the filter housing and the 7" HMI screen gives an alarm to the operator when it is time to change the filter cartridge.

TF filter cartridges filters the transformer oil according to βx(3) ≥ 2000 according to ISO 16889 with code 07/04/01.

Degassing

The degassing principle is based on an even flow of oil over specially developed Raschig rings. With this process, a controlled and highly efficient degassing is obtained.

Single stage degassing

Degassing in one step with a single stage rotary vane vacuum pump. During a single pass, the amount of water in the oil is reduced to <5 ppm and the residual gas value to <0.2% (at starting value: <50ppm, 10%). The pressure in the vacuum degasser must not fall below 1 mbar. Treatment of the oil must be done safely and with a pressure that is higher than the vapor pressure of the transformer oil. This is to minimize the risk of removing additives that the manufacturer has added to the insulating oil, e.g. inhibitor etc. Therefore we do not have a root pump in our standard equipment.

Accessories

Standard equipment included in the TF-series transformer oil reconditioning units:

  • Inlet hose 10m incl. lockable camlock (Autolock)
  • Outlet hose 10m incl. lockable camlock (Autolock)
  • Suction nozzle for oil filling (Use with barrel or IBC)
  • Hoses for draining the system

Options

  • Process monitoring via router/sms/GSM. With this technology, you can read measured values, operating functions, receive any operating alarms and carry out troubleshooting in real time.
